5. Tyrese Maxey, Kentucky Wildcats

Tyrese Maxey is a Kentucky Wildcats player set to make headlines this upcoming season, much like his former counterparts before him. Maxey is a 6-foot-4 combo guard that should play a role in the future success of the Wildcats.

He’s a player that gets after it all over the floor, forcing steals on one end and filling it up on the other. He’s a known high flyer but he also won’t hesitate to make you pay from behind the arc. Maxey is another prospect that brings some heat to the Wildcats rotation in 2019-20.

He averaged 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game in his final season at South Garland (TX). He shot 51 percent from the field and 31 percent from 3-point range as the team’s leading scorer.

Kentucky already has some guard depth with Immanuel Quickley and Ashton Hagans returning next season. With their return, it may allow Maxey to play off the ball in Year 1, allowing him to really show off what he can do.
