Michigan Wolverines

It’s hard to actually tell how a lot of these recruits truly view Michigan right now. The hire of former player Juwan Howard has been viewed very positively with the high school prospects in the region, including the Minneapolis native Suggs himself. The new coaching staff for the Wolverines has been reaching out to many top-tier players in the 2020 class, with several showing sincere interest.

But with Coach Howard still unproven as a head coach at the NCAA level, it’s hard to see how many will commit early on. Those who plan on making a decision this fall like Suggs will probably be out of reach for the time being. But it’s never a bad thing to get positive recruiting press by being a finalist for a quality player.

The potential fit for Suggs with Michigan is also tricky, assuming that starting point guard Zavier Simpson returns for his senior season. He’s projected to be an All-Big Ten performer this upcoming season and is primarily a ball handler. Suggs can play the two-spot but wants to be the lead ball handler as well. There are other options where that wouldn’t be a question at all compared to the Wolverines.

Michigan will land some key players in the 2020 class, with four-star shooting guard Zeb Jackson already on board. Just don’t think there’s any “hard” interest on Suggs’ side other than acknowledging that Michigan made a good hire.
