Nov. 17 at Wisconsin

Last Year: 23-11 (14-6 Big Ten)
NCAA Tournament: 5 seed, Round of 64
2019-20 Projection: 21st

A rivalry renewed, albeit a little earlier in the season than usual. The Badgers and Golden Eagles typically square off on a Saturday in early December, but moved up this year’s meeting to alleviate other scheduling quirks.

No matter the day though, this should be a ferocious battle between two evenly matched teams. With Ethan Happ and Sam Hauser leaving the programs, both UW and MU have two massive holes to replace on their respective rosters. Wisconsin’s backcourt, which battled inconsistencies throughout the 2018-19 campaign, will need to be much sturdier for the Badgers to return to the tourney.

D’Mitrik Trice had a marvelous start to his season (17 ppg through 9 games), but quickly fell off, shooting just 34 percent from the field over his final 25 contests. Fellow guard Brad Davison similarly struggled through bouts of ineffectiveness, highlighted by his goose egg against Marquette last December.

Marquette has won three of its last four against Wisconsin, including two in a row at the Kohl Center. UW leads the series 67-58 all-time.
