Utah State Basketball: Breaking down the 2019 Recruiting Class
By TJ Miller
Sean Bairstow
A product of Churchie High School in Brisbane, Australia, Bairstow is an exciting prospect. He has a quick first step and once he gets into the lane he shows promising passing and finishing skills. Bairstow likes to leak out and take advantage of getting in transition where his athleticism and at least 6-7 length enable some explosive plays.
Bairstow is rated as the 342nd 2019 prospect and 3rd in Australia. Schools such as Creighton, Loyola (Chi), and Buffalo showed some interest in Bairstow which is impressive. But what stands out the most about him is he seems to fit the mold for what Craig Smith wants: High-motor guys who are tough to guard due to big time versatility.
All three of these recruits bring this to the table, and it will be fascinating who gets the most attention early on. Quinn Taylor is the only starter graduating so it’s not too realistic to picture any of these newcomers to fill in the starting five. With that said, look for all three to get minutes and make contributions throughout the season and at least one to emerge as an upstart talent.
