NCAA Basketball: Top early 2020 recruiting classes in the country
11. Butler Bulldogs
Butler is traditionally a much better program on the court than on the recruiting trail. They have, over time, been one of the top programs nationally with regards to player development and system implementation. The Dawgs have simply been consistently successful without high-ranking recruiting classes. Now, with LaVall Jordan as the leader of the program, Butler is starting to gain some momentum on the recruiting trail. So far in this recruiting season, the Dawgs have landed two very solid commits that have potentially bright futures with the team.
The top-rated of this duo is Chuck Harris, a 6-foot-1 point guard from the nation’s capital. Even though Harris has dipped a fair amount in recruiting rankings of late, he is still rated as the No. 130 overall prospect in the class and as a top-20 floor general. Although not a major 3-point threat, Harris is an excellent defender and playmaker. There are striking similarities in his playing style to current Butler point guard Aaron Thompson.
Additionally, the program added a high-upside forward with Myles Wilmoth. Measured at 6-foot-10 with plenty of athleticism and versatility, Wilmoth is a very intriguing prospect. He will need to add some strength to his frame before emerging as a major star but he is definitely a high-major player with his well-rounded game for a stretch forward. The coaching staff has compared his playing style to that of DJ Wilson.
