7. Purdue Boilermakers

It is no secret that Purdue has been one of the most consistent programs in the country under head coach Matt Painter. Year in and year out, the Boilermakers can seemingly always be counted on to finish in the upper half of the Big Ten and make the NCAA Tournament. Looking ahead to the future, it certainly seems as though that trend is coming to continue for the next several years. Coach Painter and Co. have already landed two top-150 prospects from the 2020 class that should be impact players from the jump.

The first of these was Jaden Ivey, an extremely talented in-state player ranked at No. 129 overall. Ivey is, quite simply, hardwired to score. No matter where he is on the court, it is likely that Ivey will be able to create for himself and get a relatively solid shot off. Even though he is only a 6-foot-2 shooting guard, this does not stop him from filling it up. Carsen Edwards might be in the NBA now, but Purdue has another undersized scoring machine coming soon.

Ethan Morton, a 6-foot-4 versatile athlete, is the other member of the class so far. Although listed as a small forward by most recruiting services, Morton displays the ability to play both as a dangerous wing or playmaking guard. He is ranked as the No. 72 overall prospect and he can function in many different roles. His court vision is off the charts and he defends at a pretty high level as well.

I love both of these commits for the Boilermakers – possibly my favorite early class.
