5. Virginia Cavaliers

Virginia is starting to gather some serious recruiting momentum as a result of winning the national championship during this past season. After landing a top-30 2019 recruiting class, the Cavaliers have already landed two top-150 backcourt prospects for the future of the program. It is also important to mention that the Cavaliers could be regarded as the national title favorite in 2020-21 as a result of their returning talent, these commits, and the addition of highly-touted sit-out transfer Sam Hauser. That team will be…ummm…stacked.

The top current commit in this class for Virginia is Reece Beekman, a talented lead guard. An elite four-star floor general, Beekman is one of the top early commits in the country. He is ranked at No. 56 overall in the class and has risen considerably this summer. While playing for Phenom University (WI) on the EYBL circuit, he is averaging 10.8 points (.465/.310/.818), 4.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists (to 1.1 turnovers) per game. His playmaking is incredible.

In addition to Beekman, the Cavaliers were also able to snag a commitment from Carson McCorkle. A 6-foot-3 shooting guard ranked at No. 133 in the class, McCorkle is an all-around scorer. He is an elite shooter at all levels and can be very dangerous in catch-and-shoot situations while also showcasing some ability around the rim. McCorkle can also function as a secondary playmaker on occasion due to his instincts in the pick-and-roll.
