Anton Watson – Spokane, WA

SF | 6-foot-8 | 210 lbs | No. 47 overall

Arguably the most exciting player in Gonzaga’s 2019 recruiting class, Anton Watson comes in ranked at No. 47 in the class. An extremely versatile combo forward with plenty of size and length, he has the makings of a potential superstar with the program. He understands the game extremely well and therefore impacts each contest in a variety of ways. Watson can be a switchable defender, solid playmaker, and an elite rebounder for his position. Additionally, there is plenty to like with regards to his scoring ability.

He is a solid shooting threat for his size, can score with consistency around the rim, and understands when to pick his spots as a scorer. With the right development, Watson might emerge as the go-to scorer for the team at some point down the road. His ability to play multiple positions when on the court and succeed in differing roles will help him find minutes right away for the Bulldogs before increasing his role over the years.

Heading into this coming season, it seems that Corey Kispert and Tillie are locked to start at the two forward positions. Watson, though, could easily be the primary back-up at both positions. He should see plenty of minutes right away and could develop into something special. Due to his size and all-around fluidity, Watson has NBA potential.
