2. Christian Laettner Part 2 — “The Shot” (1992)

Some might argue that this is the most memorable buzzer-beater of all time and should be No. 1 on this list, but it took a back seat just a couple of years ago — you’ll soon find out who topped “The Shot” by Christian Laettner.

More from NCAA Basketball News

Everyone loved to hate Laettner throughout his career. He played for the hated Blue Devils, just had this look and swagger to him that made him almost unbearable.

He was just really good which made it even worse. It got even worse after the 1992 NCAA Tournament.

There was a trip to the Final Four on the line and Duke and Kentucky were battling it out to be the blue blood representative in the national semifinal.

Kentucky had a 103-102 lead with 2.1 seconds left in overtime and Grant Hill inbounding the ball on the baseline.

He launched the perfect pass to a waiting Laettner who caught it, faked to his right and turned around with a dribble to his left and a fadeaway.

This is the shot every kid — including myself — practiced in their driveway as a kid with an imaginary crowd roaring in their minds.
