Alabama Crimson Tide

New Alabama head coach Nate Oats is one of the best in the business when it comes to recruiting. I know that is a bit of a bold statement considering he has spent his entire career to this point at the mid-major level, but he absolutely cleaned up with his player evaluations and relationship building at Buffalo. He is also a strong in-game coach but it is his recruiting prowess that has me excited about the future of the Alabama program. He is also already off to a great start by putting the program in the final five for Cam’Ron Fletcher. Even though the Crimson Tide might not be the favorite to land his commitment, the program does have the ability to issue a unique pitch.

Unlike the majority of the other schools on this list, Alabama represents an opportunity for Fletcher to be “the man” in college. The Crimson Tide are ushering in a new era for their hoops program with Coach Oats at the helm and Fletcher could be the ignitor for future successes. Considering Fletcher is expected to take a visit to Tuscaloosa at some point in the near future, it seems as though the coaching staff will have the opportunity to sway his potential college leanings.

Coach Oats has done an exceptional job on the recruiting trail, both with high school prospects and transfers, since taking over the top job at Alabama. If Fletcher was to join the Crimson Tide, he would likely join an extremely talented and fairly experienced squad in 2020-21. Additionally, as potentially the first commit in the 2020 class for ‘Bama, he could be a building block for a special class.
