Oklahoma State Basketball: Ranking 2019-20 non-conference opponents
6. Western Michigan Broncos (Nov 22th)
2018-19 record: 8-24 (2-16)
It was a dreadful season for Western Michigan after dealing with several key injuries. But upperclassmen Bryce Moore and Brandon Johnson will be back next season to help out Michael Flowers, who scored 15.7 ppg last season. The Broncos won’t have leading scorer and rebounder Seth Dugan but with a bevy of rising sophomores combined with the return of the injured players, WMU should bounce back to the middle-tier of the MAC.
5. (A) College of Charleston (Nov 13th)
2018-19 record: 24-9 (12-6)
The first true road game of the season, the Cowboys are on upset alert against one of the best mid-major players in the country, Grant Riller returns after averaging 21.9 ppg and 4.1 apg on 54% shooting. Jarrell Brantley has graduated so the remaining College of Charleston players will have to replace his nearly 20 ppg of production. They don’t have much size though, an expected trait for a mid-major team. But Oklahoma State has to be careful of Riller going off for 30+ at home.
4. (N) Minnesota Gophers (Dec 21st)
2018-19 record: 22-11 (9-11)
The two best players for Minnesota (Amir Coffey and Jordan Murphy) are gone, along with a couple of transfer role players. The projected roster will be incredibly young outside of grad transfer forward Alihan Demir but talented as well. Daniel Oturu will be one of the best big men in the Big Ten next season, while Pittsburgh transfer Marcus Carr will take over for Coffey at the point guard position. There are still plenty of unknowns this season with the Gophers but this should potentially represent a solid Quad-2 victory at the very least.
