Kentucky Wildcats

Even though Kentucky does not have an early 2020 commitment, it should only be a matter of time before that changes. Year in and year out, the Wildcats always find a way to secure a top-10 recruiting class in the nation and the expectations should be the same this year. Head coach John Calipari is simply among the best when it comes to landing five-star prospects and building a cohesive roster of versatile athletes. With regards to this crop of 2020 talents, Kentucky seems to be in solid positioning with a number of top targets.

In the backcourt, it seems as though BJ Boston (No. 10) is near the top of UK’s list. The lanky shooting guard is a matchup nightmare on the wing with his three-level scoring and massive two-way potential. Additionally, his connection with point guard Sharife Cooper (No. 19) might net the Wildcats an incredible combo package. At this moment, though, it seems more likely that Boston will spring to UK alone. Furthermore, the Wildcats recently made the top-5 cut for Joshua Christopher (No. 9) and have shown interest in a number of other guards as well.

Moving towards the frontcourt, Isaiah Todd (No. 14) and Cliff Omoruyi (No. 51) could be among the top targets. Kentucky holds crystal ball majorities for both of these prospects and they fit the mold of solid additions to the future roster. The same could also be said about forward Cam’Ron Fletcher (No. 36), who recently included UK in his final five.

Obviously, Kentucky has the ability to join any recruiting battle late in the season and become a serious contender. This has been shown as of late with recent interest in DJ Steward (No. 27) and Daishen Nix (No. 15), although offers are yet to be extended. Because of this, it is hard to predict who will make up UK’s 2020 recruiting class. No matter what, though, it is safe to assume that BBN will be quite happy with the results.
