Outlook

In the High School basketball world, there are super teams in the AAU ranks all the time. In season there are many schools who have talented rosters and those who would be considered super teams especially at schools like Oak Hill Academy, IMG Academy and Brewster Academy. Those prep schools are known for their basketball programs and have produced many college and NBA stars.

Prior to this season the last two teams won the California state championship and former Duke star Marvin Bagley played for the Trailblazers as well. This season could blow all of that out of the water, the local media in Los Angeles is talking about a potential undefeated season and National Championship. That is hard to do, especially at the high school level but Sierra Canyon can be very good, and honestly could be the greatest high school team ever assembled.

If nothing else, their games are going to be fun to watch especially with the prospect of LeBron James Sr. being in attendance. All of that aside, the players on this team make it fun and they should score and win a lot. The main challenge will be teaching them to play together and share the ball. Often when a team has so much talent and so many ball dominant players, it is a challenge to make it work. There is after all only one ball on the floor at a time.

Some other questions are how will this team defend, and how do they respond to adversity?  That is a question every team must answer every season. The Trailblazers are going to be fine and should live up to their lofty expectations. Expect big things out of them, and when they are on TV grab some popcorn and get ready for the show.
