Kansas Jayhawks

No one in college basketball has the reputation of developing big men quite like Bill Self. Kansas always seems to have a dominant big man, from Julian Wright to Darrell Arthur to Cole Aldrich to Marcus and Markieff Morris to Thomas Robinson to Joel Embiid to Udoka Azubuike. The first seven of those players were all first round picks and Todd may be the next in line.

One thing Kansas can offer is an immediate spot in the starting lineup. Azubuike is entering his final season of eligibility and Todd’s versatility would make him an excellent complement to backup center and former McDonald’s All-American David McCormack. If point guard, Devon Dotson leaves school for the NBA as well, Todd would (likely) be their unquestioned go-to guy.

Self has also drawn a few players from North Carolina. Dotson is from Charlotte and 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year Devonte’ Graham is from Raleigh.

At Kansas, Todd would get the chance to play for one of the sport’s signature programs and for a coach who has proven he can develop versatile big men. He’d be the face of the program for the one year he is expected to be in college and would have a great chance to play with several other top players from the class. As always, the Jayhawks are in the mix for many five-star prospects in the 2020 class. Landing one or two of those players would certainly help their chances.

Todd is planning to make an official visit to Kansas in the fall.
