Arizona Wildcats

Arizona is an interesting player in this recruitment. Although they are geographically an outlier compared to the other schools remaining, this does differentiate them from the rest. Additionally, it would be a mistake to ever overlook head coach Sean Miller on the recruiting trail. Regardless of your opinions on the program, he has done a remarkable job bringing talent to campus. After this coming season, both Nico Mannion and Josh Green are expected to head to the NBA and that will open up two starting backcourt/wing spots.

With that said, recent 2020 commit Dalen Terry will hold down one of those slots but Caleb Love would be able to slide next to him and create a dynamic backcourt. The Wildcats missed the Big Dance during this past campaign but they are expected to quickly return to the top-25 in 2019-20 as a potential title contender. Coach Miller seemingly always adds enough talent to be a dangerous team out west and Love would be another one of those players.

If Love commits to Arizona early in the recruiting season, the program would be able to direct its entire recruiting efforts to its future frontcourt. They would likely look to stay in the running for other guards, but they would already have both future backcourt slots filled with Terry and Love. With more attention spent on wings and bigs in the class, Arizona could secure a well-rounded top-5 class with national title hopes.

That is, of course, all hypothetical but it could be part of the pitch to potentially land this commitment.
