Myles Tate – Dorman H.S. (SC)

PG | 6-foot-0 | 170 lbs | No. 103 overall

Myles Tate is the most recent Butler commit and he is also the most highly-regarded. After a strong summer with Upward Stars SE, the talented combo guard skyrocketed up the recruiting rankings and nearly into the top-100. With the ability to score at all three levels, defend at a high rate, and create for others with consistency, he is an all-around talent willing to compete night in and night out. Tate also boasts three state championships in three years so he brings a winning pedigree as well. Toughness is the name of the game when it comes to watching Tate and teammates can always rely on him to produce when it matters most. The expectation is that Tate will slide into the shooting guard role at the college level alongside the next commit in this class.

Chuck Harris – Gonzaga College H.S. (DC)

PG | 6-foot-1 | 170 lbs | No. 130 overall

Butler’s first 2020 commit came in the form of Chuck Harris. One of the top pure point guards in the entire class, Harris exhibits elite-level court vision. He dictates the pace of games extremely well and is the type of passer that can control offensive possessions. Harris probes the inside remarkably well and has shown the ability to score with some consistency as well. On the defensive end of the floor, Harris is a tenacious on-ball stopper and that should translate to the next level. He is truly a pure point guard and could be a three-year starter at the spot for Butler. Harris is coming off a grassroots season in which he reportedly dished out 55 assists to just 19 turnovers for Team Takeover. (EYBL stats are not always complete/accurate but those numbers are excellent.)

Myles Wilmoth – St. Andrew’s School (NY)

PF | 6-foot-10 | 205 lbs | No. 266 overall

Although not nearly as highly-ranked as the two guards in this class, Myles Wilmoth is an exciting addition. Based on Coach Jordan’s recruiting habits to this point, it seems as though he is building a team that can play with pace and that requires a forward with plenty of versatility and the ability to run the court. Wilmoth fits that description perfectly as a fluid athlete that is simply oozing potential on both ends as a matchup nightmare. On the offensive end of the floor, he can be dangerous as a screener due to his propensity to either pop out to knock down an open 3-pointer or sky for a finish above the rim. Defensively, he brings plenty of size at 6-foot-10 and can be a solid rim-protector while also showcasing the ability to switch across multiple coverages. Wilmoth will need to add some strength to his frame before competing in the Big East but his ceiling is extremely high.

I spoke to Wilmoth regarding his commitment to Butler and the coaching staff’s hopes for him. You can find that article/interview here.
