Clayton Custer; Guard (Loyola-Chicago)

Club: Slack Wroclaw (Poland)

Now here is another Rambler. The 2017-18 Loyola Chicago roster possessed a slew of backcourt talent. In addition to Marques Townes, they had this guy. Clayton Custer is also a very clutch playmaker. His performance throughout the Ramblers’ historic season of 2017-18 won him the 2017-18 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year award. Custer also happens to be the champion of the 2019 College 3-point competition.

Custer began his career at Iowa State, then transferred to Loyola Chicago. While with the Ramblers, he averaged 12 ppg and also established himself as a great passer. The ball movement of the Ramblers offense in 2017-18 was quite a spectacle, and Custer was extremely influential in making that happen.

Another strength of Custer’s game is his ability to perform well in clutch situations. Against Tennessee in the Second Round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, Custer’s heroic fade away when down by one with seconds to play is what lifted the Ramblers into the Sweet 16. Ability to perform well in game-deciding situations is huge when it comes to being noticed by professional teams.

According to the Loyola Chicago Men’s Basketball Twitter, Clayton Custer is heading to Poland to play for Slack Wroclaw.
