Oregon Ducks

Official Visit: Scheduling in the works.

Oregon is absolutely rolling on the recruiting trail. For the past few years, it seems as though head coach Dana Altman has emerged as one of the top coaches to beat when it comes to any recruiting battle. He is sensational when it comes to relationship building and the program has clearly been successful on the court as well. Even though Oregon is not often discussed among the consistently great teams in college basketball, the program’s recent run of NCAA Tournament bids and deep runs is definitely worth mentioning. The Ducks have reached at least the Sweet 16 in three of the last four years.

Coach Altman’s successes on the court should be well-documented as should his abilities on the recruiting trail. Even though Oregon is yet to land a 2020 prospect, that should change very soon (N’Faly Dante committed but then reclassified to 2019). The Ducks have landed a top-25 recruiting class in each of the past six years and they are showing no signs of slowing down. Coach Altman and Co. have made great progress with many 2020 recruits, and that included Nimari Burnett, who would be a perfect fit for the future of the program.

After this coming season, Oregon will have to wave goodbye to longtime starting point guard Payton Pritchard. This will open the door for a newcomer to arrive and swiftly take over a starting role on a team capable of winning the national title. Even though the Ducks might lose some players to the draft after this coming season, you can be sure that Coach Altman will keep the team near the top of the national rankings thanks to high-level recruiting.

Burnett would be able to immediately take over a major role on a title-contending team while playing alongside several other top-rated talents. That is worth considering, for sure.
