Louisville Cardinals

Official Visit: Sept. 13

It is no secret that Louisville head coach Chris Mack has been dominating since taking over at the program. In addition to taking the program to the Big Dance in his first season at the helm, Coach Mack has also been tremendous on the recruiting trail and is already facing preseason top-10 expectations for this coming season. The Cardinals are clearly trending back to becoming one of the most feared teams in the nation both on the court and in recruiting battles. The program is currently in the mix for a tremendous number of prospects and Nimari Burnett is one of them.

Based on Louisville’s current list of offers and priorities, it is abundantly clear that the coaching staff is in the market for a playmaking guard. Burnett, who boasts plenty of point guard skills as a top-25 overall prospect, is clearly near the top of their priority list as a result. Additionally, it is important to mention that UL is returning to being one of the nation’s top programs. As a result, it is reasonable to assume that the Cardinals will be a national title contender for the next several years and Burnett would fit a major positional need for this coming season.

Louisville’s combination pitch of being a national title contender that can offer immediate playing time might be hard to beat. With that said, though, the coaching staff is currently targeting a number of backcourt options in the 2020 class so it is difficult to see exactly who their top targets are. Louisville, though, definitely has a strong pitch if they want to go all-in on landing Burnett.
