Niels Lane – Roselle, NJ
SG | 6-foot-5 | 195 lbs | No. 86 overall
Ranked as the No. 4 player out of New Jersey, Niels Lane is a talented wing with plenty of size at 6-foot-5. He was one of the best players on the EYBL circuit over the course of this summer and looks poised to continue his rise in recruiting rankings. Lane is already a top-tier athlete and elite defender but he is adding to his bag of tricks on the offensive end constantly as well. He does a bit of everything on the floor and will be an asset for one of the seven schools remaining in his recruitment. In addition to Florida, Lane is considering Xavier, Texas, UConn, Miami, Georgia, and Providence. This is certainly a tough list but it will not be one that is impossible to beat. The Gators offered him a scholarship back in early May and they seem to still be in contact.
Matt Cross – Beverly, MA
PF | 6-foot-7 | 225 lbs | No. 78 overall
Florida was not originally regarded as one of the favorites to land Matt Cross but that might have changed following his recent visit to campus. South Carolina and Indiana are still generating the most buzz with the talented power forward but Coach White should not be counted out. Cross is fresh off a sensational summer on the EYBL circuit in which he showcased his all-around abilities as a scorer. He brings solid size at 6-foot-7, rebounds extremely well, and can fill it up at all three levels. Cross has absolutely soared up the recruiting rankings over the past year and he might not be done rising. Now a top-100 recruit in the nation, someone is going to get a steal with Cross. He is developing at a quick rate and that will only continue into the future. Florida entered the game a bit late but they have time to potentially land a commitment. It is rumored that Cross is expected to commit in the next few weeks.
