Posh Alexander – Bronx, NY (Committed)

PG | 5-foot-11 | 170 lbs | No. 105 overall

As the sole early 2020 commitment for St. John’s, Posh Alexander is the building block for the class. He is a talented point guard prospect with plenty of scoring potential at the collegiate level. Even though he is measured at just 5-foot-11, he makes up for his lack of height with superb skill. Alexander understands how to get to his spots and can fill it up at all three levels while also showcasing solid playmaking ability. He should only continue to develop his creating skills over the next few years and it seems likely that he will be the point guard of the future in Queens.

Additionally, Alexander is well-known as a hard-nosed defender. Considering Coach Anderson’s scheme revolves around defense, this makes Alexander a potentially perfect fit to lead the program through the coach’s first few years with the program. The young point guard really gets after opposing guards as he can harass his matchup full-court or stick to him like glue in the half-court. Alexander brings a high level of toughness and will emerge as a vocal leader for the Red Storm during his career.

While playing for New York Lightning on the EYBL circuit this summer, Alexander showcased his all around game. Over the course of 20 contests, he posted averages of 12.6 points (.408/.215/.733), 3.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. These numbers showcase his offensive game but he was also one of the best defenders on the circuit. Alexander should be a multi-year starter in the Big East with plenty of two-way potential.
