Zed Key – Glen Head, NY

PF | 6-foot-8 | 215 lbs | No. 221 overall

As one of the top performers from the Adidas Circuit this summer, Zed Key has seen his recruitment take off. Even though he is still ranked outside of the nation’s top-200, high-major programs from around the country have issued offers in recent months. It is clear that Key emerged as a breakout candidate this summer. He will also likely continue his rise as a senior at LuHi, where he is teammates with top-75 point guard Andre Curbelo. Key is planning to commit prior to the early signing period, though.

With regards to his playing style, Key is a versatile forward with the ability to score both inside and out while being a solid defender. Above those other skills, though, he is a great rebounder for his position and should be an immediately impactful player on the glass at the college level. Key still has plenty of room to develop but his style archetype fits the mold of a modern forward and it is easy to see why high-majors have jumped into this recruiting battle.

Key is yet to cut his list of potential destinations and therefore it is hard to determine any favorites. With that said, though, he has scheduled an unofficial visit to Providence (Sept. 2) and an official trip to Florida (Sept. 7). These two programs could be the favorites although it is reasonable to assume that he will be taking more visits in the coming months as well. Some of the other programs involved are Notre Dame, Cincinnati, and a number of programs that are lurking but have not offered scholarships.
