Top returning scorer – Lamar Stevens

This guy is a big reason I’m going out on a limb for the Nittany Lions this year, Stevens worked out for quite a few NBA teams this summer but elected to come back to school for his senior year after not receiving an invite to the NBA combine. A First-Team All-Big 10 member, Stevens is someone capable of dominating this conference just like he did last year and someone who can put a program on his back. In order for Penn State to make the tournament, Lamar Stevens is going to need to go big. With a chip on his shoulder I wouldn’t rule anything out for him, being able to lead the Nittany Lions to a postseason appearance would be a great ending for one of the best players to play at Penn State in a long time.

Player most likely to breakout – Myles Dread

Dread struggled a little bit in his first year for Penn State but got a lot of playing time in a thin frontcourt. Starting in 28 games as a freshman he should be able to improve and make a bigger impact. Dread showed instances of being a quality player and a good scorer, Penn State is going to need him to put some points up for a team that’s missing two of their top three scorers from last season. I’m going to give a shoutout to Mike Watkins also, I think he’s primed to have a big senior season as well.

A freshman to get excited for – Seth Lundy

Lundy has been a longtime commit for Penn State and I’m sure fans are happy to finally see him join the team in Happy Valley. He’s similar to Dread in the sense that he’s likely to get big minutes as a freshman, expect a lot of small ball for Penn State this year, it will allow them to get their best players on the court at the same time. Lundy has a lot of ups and has a knack for getting to the basket, he’ll be an exciting player and Penn State fans are hopeful that he will be around for quite a while.
