14. F Clay Mounce – Furman

Furman’s Clay Mounce is a fiery forward that not only has the ability to create mismatches for himself down low but can also hit the three-point shot reliably. He averaged 10.4 ppg while shooting 52% from the field last season. In Furman’s upset victory Villanova who was ranked 8th at the time, Mounce contributed 15 points while shooting 60% from the field and going 3/4 from beyond the arc. This season, with forward Matt Rafferty no longer with the Paladins, Mounce’s presence in the front court is going to be even more crucial to the success of Furman. I expect him to successfully handle his increased role.

13. G Tray Boyd III – ETSU

Tray Boyd III is one of a quite a few guys that make ETSU’s backcourt the threat that it is. He led the team in scoring last season, averaging 12.2 ppg. Out of all of the teams in the SOCON, ETSU is returning the most production. As he is now a senior, it seems likely that Boyd will not only be one of the leaders of the Buccaneers again, but he will also be a driving force in getting them to where they would like to be this season.
