Don’t be surprised to see Davidson NCAA Tournament bound again

The schedule for Davidson is certainly one that will get a team that has NCAA Tournament aspirations ready for league play and beyond. They open the season with 2019 Final Four participant Auburn and then host Nevada and play Wake Forest on a neutral floor in Charlotte. On Thanksgiving, the Wildcats travel down to Orlando to face a preseason top-25 team in Marquette in the Orlando Invitational.

They also get a game with either USC or Fairfield and another against one of Maryland, Harvard, Temple or Texas A&M as part of the event. December lightens up a bit as they have road games against Northeastern, Loyola-Chicago, and Vanderbilt, and their one home game in the month comes against Coppin State.

The Wildcats are a fringe top-25 team to start the season according to some, so missing out on the NCAA Tournament would be a disappointment. But, this schedule positions the Wildcats well to be in the conversation for an at-large berth with a solid non-conference record.

Either way, Davidson should be one of the top contenders for the Atlantic 10 title and if they do happen to make the tournament, Bob McKillop with a strong team is not someone you’d want to see in your bracket.
