Missouri

Record: 2-0 | Next Game: Tuesday, Nov.12 @ #19 Xavier

Missouri’s first two games went exactly like expected. They dominated Incarnate word 82-42 behind 16 points from Junior forward Jeremiah Tilmon. They then followed up that victory by taking down a decently talented Northern Kentucky squad 71-56. Junior guard Mark Smith led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points. Those numbers are great, but they are yet to reveal a lot about what this Missouri team can do this year.

We may get some answers regarding the Missouri Tigers when they take on Xavier on Tuesday. Xavier finds themselves ranked 19th in the nation, and I am convinced that this Missouri team is going to go in and give them all they can handle. Coming off of a disappointing year in 2018-19, these Tigers are hungry and out to show that they can compete in big games. They have a chip on their shoulder and we may see them play with a fire that we have not seen them play with the past couple of seasons.

One thing that will help them on Tuesday night is that they are a better scoring team. They do not have one guy that threatens opposing defenses and does all of the damage. Their points can come from anywhere. They are moving the ball better and communicating. I do not think we’ve seen Missouri at the top of its game yet, but there is a good chance we see that Tuesday night.
