. . Louisville Cardinals. 22. player. 438.

Total Commits: 3 | Average Rating: 94.65

Louisville has been an elite college basketball program for the last several years. Now with head coach Chris Mack at the helm, expectations remain exceptionally high and it appears as though he is ready to reach that bar. The Cardinals entered the 2019-20 campaign as a preseason top-10 team in the nation and they have also been relatively successful on the recruiting trail once again with regards to the 2020 class. Coach Mack has secured three early commits to make up the nation’s No. 22 class at this moment.

With that said, though, Louisville’s class could have easily been ranked much higher. This is due to the fact that the coaching staff missed on a number of their top targets and that should not be overlooked. Caleb Love, DJ Steward, and Deivon Smith all would have been much-needed additions in the backcourt but chose other destinations. That makes the ongoing recruitment of uncommitted Jalen Terry so incredibly important for the squad moving forward. The Cardinals also missed out on Zach Loveday in the frontcourt as he decided to go to Baylor.

Leading the way for this group of future newcomers as of right now, though, is Jay Scrubb. Although a JUCO transfer, Scrubb was heavily sought-after by just about every blueblood this offseason. He is ranked as the No. 1 JUCO player in the nation and will be a dynamic threat once/if he arrives in Louisville next season. He is a top-notch scorer at 6-foot-6 and fits the mold of a future NBA player.

With regard to just the members of the H.S. Class of 2020, though, D’Andre Davis (No. 93) is the top-rated signee for Louisville. Originally a Nebraska commit, Davis is a 6-foot-5 wing with a well-built frame and the ability to make an impact in a variety of ways. He can do a little bit of everything offensively while also proving to be an elite defender and strong positional rebounder. Additionally, his younger brother has the potential to be a special prospect in the 2022 class and therefore that recruitment is already worth monitoring.

J.J. Traynor (No. 116), a 6-foot-8 power forward, is the final current commit in this class. He is an in-state signee for Coach Mack with a bright future even if he is not the most polished performer at this moment.
