2. Could the Player of the Year reside in Corvallis for the first time since 1990?

After November it is possible that the Pac-12 Player of the Year resides in Corvallis, Oregon. Tres Tinkle has led the Oregon State Beavers to a 5-1 start that includes a win over Iowa State, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Oklahoma 77-69.

The 6-7 senior from Montana has dominated offensively for the Beavers this season, he has led the team in scoring and rebounding in every game this season except for one. He leads the team in nearly every statistical category, points, rebounds, assists and field goal percentage. Tinkle has been a big factor for Oregon State since his arrival on campus when he averaged 13 points and 5.4 rebounds in his freshman season. In his final season, he has gotten off to an amazing start, averaging 21.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and he shoots 52.7% from the field.

The do-it-all forward has registered four double-doubles in six games and netted at least 25 points in half of his six games this season. The versatile big man can do it from inside and outside, as he has shot 40% from beyond the arc this season, if the first month is any indication, Oregon State could have their first conference Player of the Year since Gary Payton was a Beaver.
