1. Slow down Kaleb Wesson

Kaleb Wesson is the key piece to the Buckeyes offense as he is leading the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game, but he also leads in rebounding at 9.1 per game. He has improved his outside shooting and is a big threat from deep, but he is also very skilled down low.

That is not a good sign for the Wildcats as they have struggled to stop versatile big men this year. Timmy Allen who is similar in stature to Wesson just went for 25 and 9 against the Wildcats and was the main reason the Utes pulled off the upset.

If the Wildcats can’t slow down Wesson it is going to be a long day. They have to find a way to keep him from getting open looks and controlling the inside. But they can’t just worry about him on the inside as he is shooting just under 46% from deep.

Wesson is a matchup nightmare for almost every team and it will be the same with Kentucky. He is better on offense than anybody Kentucky has to guard him so they are going to have to do a good job of helping out and making the rest of the team beat you.

They aren’t going to completely stop Wesson but if they can limit his scoring and keep him from getting a lot of offensive rebounds they should be in good shape to win the game. In the Buckeyes one loss this year to Minnesota, Wesson scored just 12 points and only shot 25% from three. If the Wildcats can do that they can win this game.
