A road win in Assembly Hall would be B1G but it won’t come easy

Assembly Hall had a loud and intense crowd in the Hoosiers upset win over Michigan State Thursday. Indiana is 12-1 at home and the crowd has a big part in that. The Hoosier faithful are definitely going to bring the same energy as the Terps come into town Sunday afternoon. The Terps are known for slow starts which include missed shots and turnovers. They have to get shots to go down on offense. Either that or use their defense to halt a big run from Indiana to start the game.

The Terps beat the Hoosiers in the Xfinity Center and is one of two Big Ten teams that are undefeated at home. A win for Indiana at home over Maryland would bode well for them as it will do two things: give them their fourth win over a ranked opponent and get them another step closer to the Big Ten’s upper room.

Maryland basketball has to make an effort to push the ball down the floor in transition. When they do that and convert their opportunities, they play an efficient brand of Maryland basketball. Fluid ball movement will be key as well on the road. If the ball sits still, turnovers and bad shot selection could result. The Assembly Hall crowd will feed off of those kinds of mistakes.

What will be interesting in this matchup is how the Terps handle the crowd noise in pivotal moments. The last five minutes of a game can tell you a lot about a team so Maryland basketball fans should pay special attention to that stretch.
