BYU Cougars (21-7, 10-3 WCC)
NET: 21 | KPI: 40 | SOR: 29 | BPI: 19 | KP: 19 | Sag: 27
Q1: 2-4 | Q2: 4-3 | Q3: 7-0 | Q4: 7-0
BYU has outstanding metrics, a strong record, and the benefit of saying that Yoeli Childs is healthy and has competed in three straight games. The Cougars are yet to suffer a bad loss and have been absolutely torching their opponents during this current six-game winning streak. I think that BYU is in a very safe spot with regard to the NCAA Tournament with only three regular-season games left. Even if they lose all four remaining games (including conf. tourney), it’s hard to think they fall all the way out. Current Bracketology Placement: No. 7 seed.
Saint Mary’s Gaels (21-6, 8-4 WCC)
NET: 36 | KPI: 39 | SOR: 38 | BPI: 37 | KP: 35 | Sag: 40
Q1: 3-3 | Q2: 3-1 | Q3: 7-2 | Q4: 7-0
Saint Mary’s hasn’t been extremely dominant in WCC play but still boasts metrics that all rank within the Top 40 nationally and they have only dropped six games all season. The Gaels are in great shape to dance even with a pair of tough road games (at Santa Clara and Gonzaga) left on the schedule. Winning the next two at home over Loyola Marymount and San Diego would lock this team in the field, in my opinion. Current Bracketology Placement: No. 8 seed.
