South Carolina Gamecocks – Buy

South Carolina has one of the strangest resumes in the country. They have a stranger resume then fellow bubble member Providence. In fact, the Gamecocks have one of the best wins of any of the bubble teams and the worst loss of any of the bubble teams. South Carolina like many of the other bubble teams did not start the year out on a strong note.

The Gamecocks have dropped home games against Boston University and Stetson University. The latter being one of the worst losses of any bubble team. South Carolina has also beaten Virginia on the road and Kentucky at home. They have the wins and they have bad losses. As mentioned the losses may keep them out of the tournament all together but the 3-5 record against quad 1 teams keeps them firmly on the bubble. The Gamecocks have a NET of 62 which is not great for a bubble team but not a killer either.

The schedule sets up for head coach Frank Martin and his team as they have three of their remaining six games in quad one. South Carolina needs some help come championship week, they are going to need to perform well in the SEC tournament and they are going to have to hope for no bid stealers. This team has the looks of a tournament team and they are well-coached. They are going to be one of the teams in the conversation and should make the tournament if they continue to do what they are doing.
