1. Pressure the three

The Badgers have done a great job of knocking down three’s during their current four-game winning streak. In each of those wins, they have hit at least 12 three-pointers with their high coming when they hit 15 against Nebraska.

For the season the Badgers are hitting 34.8% of their shots from deep with Micah Potter leading the way at 45.7% from the outside. As a team, Wisconsin is shooting 25 triples per game as they have made it their main offense to bomb away.

The Wolverines are normally very good at pressuring outside shots, but it will be their top priority against the Badgers on Thursday. Wisconsin can score inside but they aren’t as effective and wit the size the Wolverines have it will be even tougher for them to score in the paint. This will lead to them needing, even more, to score from the outside and the Wolverines must keep them from getting open looks.

The size of the wings for the Wolverines should help with that, but the Badgers run all over the place looking for open shots, so communication will also be key. If Michigan can keep the Badgers from getting hot from deep they should be able to come away with a fairly easy victory.

But if the Badgers can get their shots to fall early, it could be a long night for Michigan. Stop the three and you stop Wisconsin.
