Summit League Basketball: 2020 conference tournament preview and predictions
Where will the Summit League champ be seeded?
With two teams dominating this conference over the last few seasons, both North Dakota State, the top seed and this year’s tournament and South Dakota State, the No. 2 seed by virtue of a tiebreaker, have flip-flopped all season as the placeholder for the Summit League and it would be a surprise to most if one of these two weren’t cutting down the nets in Sioux Falls on March 10.
While it is the same two programs at the top of the conference, they haven’t had as strong of a season as ones they have had in the recent past. As a result, you can find either school as high as a No. 14 seed all the way down to a No. 16 seed depending on which bracket you look at. Here at Busting Brackets, the Jackrabbits find themselves projected as the No. 15 seed in the East region with a game against No. 2 Dayton next on their plate.
As I said, it would be a real surprise if one of the top two seeds did not win the conference tournament, but don’t be surprised when they are a bit lower on the seed line than we are used to seeing them. Nate Wolters, Mike Daum, and Marshall Bjorklund are not walking through that door.
