Bracketology

This year, things will be no different in the Sun Belt in regards to how many teams have a shot at getting into the NCAA Tournament. It is going to be one. All around, the league itself is just not as strong as others that can gift multiple NCAA Tournament bids. I mean, the best record here in the Sun Belt is 21-10 and it belongs to the Little Rock Trojans.

Down the road, if multiple teams are to have a shot at getting in the Tourney coming out of the Sun Belt, then those squads are going to have to put up impressive numbers in non-conference play and boast a non-conference record that contains little to no losses. Unfortunately, due to the competition surrounding them in the stronger leagues around the country, I think the Sun Belt will continue to be a one-bid league for quite some time.

Now, let’s not focus on the fact that multiple teams are not going to get in, but let’s start looking into where the one team that does qualify for the NCAA Tournament may be placed. In our latest edition of Bracketology, we currently have Little Rock picked to win the Sun Belt Basketball Tournament and punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament. We are projecting them to be a #15 seed. The reason for this seeding will most likely be because of the ten losses the Trojans have.
