15. North Carolina Tar Heels (13-18) (6-14 ACC)

For the first time since the 2009-10 season, the North Carolina Tar Heels will finish below .500 in the ACC basketball standings. Ironically, Roy Williams was the head coach last time this happened and that season came after the Tar Heels won a national title. The Tar Heels are far removed from last year’s Elite Eight, but there’s not much to fret about after suffering their first losing season in roughly a decade.

The Tar Heels haven’t been able to find themselves after starting the season as the No. 9 ranked team in the AP Preseason Poll. Since then, they’ve managed to lose their ranking as well as any hope as the NCAA Tournament with a lackluster performance from a not-so-talented group.

The Tar Heels did win three of their final four games so all isn’t lost for them just yet. They’ll be a team to keep an eye on in the conference tournament led by Cole Anthony, who always has something to prove on the hardwood.

Anthony has put up 19.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game this season through 20 appearances so far. On the big stage in next week’s ACC Basketball Conference Tournament, all eyes will be on him to put on a show and keep the Tar Heels’ season alive.
