Players to Watch

Tre Scott (Cincinnati): 11.4 ppg. 10.5 Reb and 2.2 Assists

Tre Scott was on the AAC All-Tournament team last season and will need another stretch of big performances for Cincinnati to keep their at large bid hopes alive. He had a huge tip-in on Sunday for the Bearcats against Temple at the buzzer to lead the Bearcats to their second straight win. Cincinnati needs Scott to be the dominant force he’s shown he can be from here on out.

Precious Achiuwa (Memphis): 15.8 ppg. 10.8 Reb. and 1.0 Assist

The success of Memphis in the AAC tournament is largely going to rest on the shoulders of Precious Achiuwa. The star freshman has had an excellent campaign posting 15 or more rebounds in each of his last three games. Interesting to note that Memphis has lost just one game this season when Precious has posted a double-double.

Christian Vital (UConn): 16.4 ppg. 6.3 Reb. and 2.6 Assists

Christian Vital isn’t going down without a fight. The senior guard has had 20 points in six of his last seven games. UConn comes in with five straight wins and will need to win the AAC tournament if they want to play in the NCAA tournament. We’ve seen UConn make that improbable run before and if there’s any chance they do it again, Vital is going to need a big tournament.

Caleb Mills (Houston): 13.2 ppg. 2.6 Reb. and 1.1 Assists

Caleb Mills has been one of the key guys for Houston here down the stretch posting 15 or more points in four of his last five games. The freshman guard has come off the bench and been a real spark, Kelvin Sampson will need him to have a good tournament if the Cougars want to win the auto-bid.
