Auburn Tigers

Auburn is in the midst of a great stretch of seasons under head coach Bruce Pearl. The Tigers first made national headlines by reaching the 2019 Final Four and followed that up with a strong campaign in 2019-20. They were a lock to reach the NCAA Tournament and likely would have received a strong seed had the event not been canceled. Auburn finished the year with an impressive 25-6 (12-6 SEC) record and that included a 15-0 start.

The future of the program is also incredible. Auburn’s 2020 recruiting class already includes three commits with one of them regarded as a five-star playmaker. JT Thor is looking to play alongside a high-level point guard and all three of these finalists have one. The Tigers boast Sharife Cooper, a 6-foot-0 guard out of Georgia ranked at No. 19 in the class.

Coach Pearl has also placed an elite-level shooter in Justin Powell (No. 152) and the Arkansas Player of the Year in power forward Chris Moore (No. 123) alongside Cooper.

Auburn has aggressively pursued Thor over the past few months and it appears as though it has gained significant ground. Will Coach Pearl be able to secure his fourth Top 160 prospect in the class and continue to build an elite future? It’s a serious possibility and the tandem of Cooper/Thor would be extremely fun to watch.
