Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame has been one of the more consistent programs in the nation over the past several years. Although the Fighting Irish have missed the NCAA Tournament in each of the past two seasons, they had danced in seven of the prior eight campaigns. Head coach Mike Brey is consistently mentioned among the most underrated leaders in the country and it is only a matter of time before the team returns to the Big Dance.

Looking ahead to the future, Johnny Juzang would be a superb addition for Notre Dame. There are very few transfers in the country with Juzang’s ceiling and Coach Brey could help the former Top 50 recruit realize his fullest potential. The Irish have done a nice job developing talent in the past so it wouldn’t be a total surprise to see Juzang emerge as a star if he chooses to play in South Bend.

With that said, it seems likely that Juzang will want to return to the west coast (originally from California) for the next step in his collegiate career. This could make it difficult for Notre Dame to keep him in the midwest to play in South Bend. It is impressive, though, that Coach Brey was able to make a quick enough impression to land in this final six.

Notre Dame has its own appeal to it and the program has secured its fair share of recruiting wins over the past few years as well. The Irish currently have nine scholarship players for the 2020-21 season so Juzang would certainly have a place.
