9. Villanova Wildcats

While the Wildcats finished the season on a high note in terms of winning (won 7 of their last 8 regular-season games), the team got less and less watchable down the stretch.

They were still taking and making 3-pointers at an extremely high rate (14th in 3-point rate, 50th in 3-point %), but their Assist Rate dropped outside the top-60 in the nation and their Pace of Play fell to the bottom 100. This could be due to the fact that the Big East was the most competitive it’s been since it split up in 2013, though it was strange to see coach Jay Wright go away from the brand of basketball that has brought him two national championships in the past four years.

Nevertheless, Villanova was still Watchable enough to finish amongst the top 10 in Watchability and with no expected departures from this year’s roster, it’s looking like Wright’s team may be gearing up for another March Madness run next season, god-willing we’ll have one.
