Future Outlook

The Future is bright as it is every year for Gonzaga. The Bulldogs are going to go into next season as one of the preseason favorites to win the National Title yet again. If there is anything fans have learned is it doesn’t matter if Few loses his entire team. The Bulldogs never go through a rebuild they just reload every single year and every single year they are one of the five best programs in the country regardless of conference affiliation.

Since so many fans don’t think Gonzaga deserves what they have because of the conference they play in, beginning in the 2022 season they are going to play Kansas. That is going to be one of the best games in the entire year and very well could be a 1 vs 2 matchup at the time it is played. This game is going to go towards furthering Gonzaga and their blue blood status.

Gonzaga had a player redshirt and he was the top international prospect in the country when he committed to Gonzaga. Oumar Ballo out of Mali has a ton of hype surrounding him and hype is with good reason. When he is going to be paired with Petrusev and Kispert in the front court the offense could be better next season than it was last season. Ballo is also going to provide much needed rim protection. That was on thing Gonzaga didn’t have much of last year and Ballo can block shots and he is going to need to next year. Ballo is also an extremely gifted rebounder, he helped his native Mali to the best finish they have ever had at the FIBA U18 tournament.

The Bulldogs yet again have a top-10 ranked recruiting class with Julian Strawther, Dominick Harris and the prize of the class in Jalen Suggs. These recruits are going to fill the needed holes left behind by the three seniors Tillie, Woolridge and Gilder. Strawther is a wing and both Harris and Suggs are both guards who are expected to provide immediate help to the backcourt. Suggs is the No. 8 player in the country according to 247 sports and is the likely starter at the point guard position coming into the year.

One player that is coming back for Gonzaga that had his season cut short due to injury is Spokane native Anton Watson. In the games Watson did play he was very productive and efficient just like every other player to play for Gonzaga. Watson coming back provides Gonzaga with some of the best depth in the country. They are going to be really good again next year and should be taken seriously as a contender again next year.
