Kentucky Basketball: Potential frontcourt options for 2020-21 roster
Jon Kuminga
Jon Kuminga is arguably the most sought after player currently in the junior class. Kuminga, perhaps the best prep player presently on the market, recently posted a tik-tok video hinting that he could become a Wildcat “one day.”
In the video, Kuminga walks into the room dancing to the audio of former Wildcat’s John Wall’s introduction with the Washington Wizards. With a Kentucky Wildcat appearing on screen, the coveted recruit then does Wall’s signature dance with the caption, “This might be me one day.”
“6’8 from Kentucky, welcome to DC,” the five-star forward added in the caption. “Jonathan Kumingaaaaaaaaa.”
Kuminga cut his list down to 10, on April 19, and is now considering Kentucky along with Duke,
Washington, Florida State, Memphis, Texas Tech, Michigan, Georgia, Maryland, and Auburn.
Kuminga is a physical specimen who relies heavily on his athleticism, length, and versatility. At this point, he is mainly a slasher and rebounder. Although he also has shown the ability to guard multiple positions as well as block shots.
