Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky is arguably the most dangerous recruiting program in the entire nation. In addition to carrying the “blueblood” label, head coach John Calipari is a tenacious recruiter capable of landing just about anyone that he seriously targets.

When it comes to the main pitch for the Wildcats, there might not be a single program better at preparing players for the NBA. Kentucky consistently lands recruits and develops them so they are ready to make a run in college before hearing their names called at the NBA Draft.

Kennedy Chandler is that kind of player as possibly the best point guard in the entire 2021 class. As a five-star floor general, he should be a one-and-done at the collegiate level and Kentucky can offer a great path to being a star in that lone campaign. The Wildcats could be losing Devin Askew after this coming season and that would open the door for Chandler to come in and immediately fill a starring role in the backcourt.

Chandler is the only point guard that Kentucky has offered in the 2021 class as the program is clearly showing how much they are prioritizing him. That pitch to be “the guy” at the point guard spot for a blueblood program that could land just about any other guard has to be appealing.

There does not appear to be a clear favorite in this recruitment, but it has been reported that Kentucky will be involved all the way to the finish line. The Wildcats have visited Chandler on several occasions and he also took an unofficial trip to Lexington in late February.

Lastly, Kentucky is another one of the three schools that made the list for both Chandler and Banchero. The Wildcat can also offer those two the opportunity to play together and fill starring roles after the expected professional departures of several top-tier 2020 commits.
