Louisville Cardinals

The move by incoming JUCO transfer Jay Scrubb left a void on the perimeter, forcing the Cardinals to fill it by landing San Francisco grad transfer Charles Minlend. Radford point guard Carlik Jones also is coming aboard, joining David Johnson and Samuell Williamson. There’s a need for another “shooting guard” for the following season, without risking losing out on a potential promising 2021 prospect.

Hodges could come in for a season and his game would transfer to the ACC if nothing else as a solid defender against high-scoring guards. Louisville already has four-star forward Bryce Hopkins on board and Coach Chris Mack has shown a willingness to land mid-major stars. Hodges would go from a lower-profile program to playing for the mighty Cardinals on Television all the time.

Maryland Terrapins

With good reason, Maryland has been in the portal all offseason trying to land a big man for next season, having next to no frontcourt depth at the moment. But they do need to think about the perimeter for the season after, with Darryl Morsell set to graduate as a senior. And Aaron Wiggins and Eric Ayala could very well depart after next year as well, so having a contingency plan would be best.

With multiple available scholarships, there’s no reason why the Terrapins don’t make a big effort to some of the top targets still in the portal. Leave one open to land a big man but see if another veteran guard would be interested in a program that has been quite successful in the Big Ten.
