Arizona Wildcats

For a while, the class of 2020 recruiting haul for the Wildcats was consisting of just top-50 small for Dalen Terry. Part of it had to do with the team missing out on several top-tier prospects but also having the NCAA hanging over their heads with potential allegations about improper recruiting actions. If anything were to happen in terms of sanctions down the road, it would likely happen during the 2021-22 season.

Arizona did make up for the departures of the trio star freshmen (Zeke Nnaji, Nico Mannion and Josh Green) with several international newcomers. On the wing area, the team added four-star wing Bennedict Mathurin, along with 6’8 combo forward Tibet Gorener. On the transfer market, the Wildcats brought in Seattle U grad transfer shooting guard Terrell Brown, who averaged over 20 ppg this past season.

When it comes to the potential outlook of Arizona’s roster, there are still many questions that need to be answered. They have a pair of guards (Brandon Williams and James Akinjo) who’ll have to get used to each other, with the Hoya transfer not eligible to play until January. Then there’s former five-star forward Jordan Brown, who sat out this past season after transferring from Nevada. Add the always unknown factor that is the foreign prospects and the Wildcats will be one of the more intriguing teams to watch early on.

As for this Brown, there is a big scoring role for him with Arizona if he chooses to go there. But a decision in favor of the Pac-12 school would have to come closer towards next Spring, once he can both have an official visit with the program, along with seeing how these new pieces fit with one another.
