Arizona Wildcats

With both future 1st round NBA Draft pick Josh Green and senior guard Dylan Smith now gone, the Wildcats are going to run with a pair of point guards for most of next year. Georgetown transfer guard James Akinjo will be eligible to play at the start of conference play, while Brandon Williams should be back after missing all of last season with an injury.

With Kentucky transfer Jamarl Baker Jr. also able to play along with Seattle U grad transfer Terrell Brown joining Arizona, the team will be good to go for next year. But there’s a real chance that most of these players will be gone, giving someone like Gach a real place to play for a program that has a track record to sending prospects to the NBA. Their pursuit of five-star guard Peyton Watson could complicate matters but since he played his high school ball in Arizona, there’s no reason why not to pursue Gach.

Auburn Tigers

The six leading scorers are gone from this past season but a top-10 recruiting class, led by five-star point guard Sharife Cooper should keep them in SEC contention in 2020-21. He’ll be gone likely after a year so the 2021 recruiting class will be just as important. Particularly if projected starting guard Devan Cambridge goes off next season and becomes a potential draft pick as well.

Besides having a need for a double-digit contributor, Gach would be an excellent fit in Auburn‘s high-octane offense. Surrounded by excellent shooters, the former Ute can slash and drive as much as he wants and help put on the defensive end. A year of development under head coach Bruce Pearl would do wonders for him and propel him towards a major junior campaign.
