Central Florida Golden Knights

With the news that freshman guard Darin Green Jr. is coming back for another season, UCF will be returning its top three scorers from this past season. With Louisville grad transfer Darius Perry joining the team, the Knights could have as many as six seniors on the 2020-21 roster. There certainly will be a need for additional talent for head coach Johnny Dawkins to work with.

While Central Florida isn’t the most prestigious program on the list, they do offer a great opportunity at immediate playing time as a freshman and can be a star in the American Athletic Conference. And if Green does stay around for a couple more years, the Knights could make a move towards the top of the league and be back in the NCAA Tournament.

Georgetown Hoyas

A team struggling to get back to the Big Dance is the Hoyas, who have gone through a huge roster turnover in the past few months. Their biggest loss recently has been sophomore guard Mac McClung, who averaged over 15 ppg this season before entering the transfer portal. That leaves rising seniors, Jahvon Blair and Jamorko Pickett as the key pieces on next year’s roster, along with Arkansas grad transfer Jalen Harris and incoming top-100 forward Jamari Sibley.

The setbacks haven’t stopped head coach Patrick Ewing from going after big-time prospects in the 2021 class. Besides Adams, Georgetown is after five-star recruits Aminu Mohammed, Moussa Cisse, Trevor Keels and others. Just landing one of them, alongside an impact target such as Adams would help steer the ship for the program. But with so many local options to pick from, will this prospect make the trip up northeast to a team with a lot of questions?
