Kansas Basketball: Ranking Jayhawks 2020-21 non-conference games
Quality Opponents for Kansas Basketball
8. Missouri (12/12), Spirit Center (Kansas City)
Based on team quality, Missouri should be a win. However, in one of the more storied rivalries in college hoops, anything is possible. I wouldn’t put Kansas on upset alert, but considering the build-up and hype, this is a big-time trap game.
7. Harvard (12/29)
Harvard is losing it’s top two players from last season’s Ivy League favorite, but Tommy Amaker’s group knows how to prepare for big games, and if Kansas is going to lose to a mid-major next season, it’s going to be to Harvard. Lot’s of talent gone on both sides, so this should be a sneaky good game.
6. Colorado (12/22)
Another former conference foe, the Buffaloes have had some big wins over Kansas, especially at home, as this game is in Boulder. Colorado is awaiting a few key NBA draft decisions, but if everyone is back, this should be an absolute blood bath.
5. UCLA (11/26-27), Wooden Tournament
The final game on here that *should be a win, Kansas will take on UCLA in the Wooden Tournament towards the end of November. The Bruins made a late run last season to come close to a Pac 12 Championship, and are returning mostly everyone from a tournament team. The Bruins should be dangerous towards the end of the season, but I really like Kansas here.
That’ll do it for the quality games. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised with losses to either Colorado or UCLA. Kansas could sweep these games, and most years they would, but with their roster in question, anything is possible.
