NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing G Langston Love top 11 options
Kansas Jayhawks
Speaking of the previously mentioned Kendall Brown, the Jayhawks are viewed as a legit contender to land the five-star wing. He’ll be a replacement for Ochai Agbaji if he goes pro a year from now but this team may also be in need of a true shooting guard. Five-star prospect guard Bryce Thompson and returning leading passer Marcus Garrett are likely around for one more year, while incoming JUCO star Tyon Grant-Foster has two seasons as well with the program.
With another top-40 recruit Zach Clemence already on the board for the 2021 class, Love would be the ideal perimeter player to make sure the Jayhawks aren’t bare for the following season. They may also need to find another ball-handler in case Thompson is “one and done” so how aggressive they are with Love could depend on that.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
It’s been the class that Mike Boynton and Ok State has been building up to for over a year, having the No. 10 overall recruiting class thanks to the landing the No. 1 individual player Cade Cunningham. He, top-100 combo guard Rondel Walker and several three-star commits make up the group, along with Cal Baptist grad transfer sharpshooter Ferron Flavors Jr. for the upcoming season. Even with all of that, it’s far from a sure bet that they’ll make the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
The Cowboys only have a limited amount of time to build off of this class and keep the momentum going. The offseason is the best time to do that but with official visits not available at the moment, many of these class of 2021 recruits are going to take their time in making a decision. If Oklahoma State struggles on the court and Coach Boynton gets on the hot seat, it’ll be hard to see them land a top-50 prospect as good as Love.
