A man to which the court at Oklahoma State is named after passed away on Saturday.

Surrounded by his family in Tulsa Oklahoma Eddie Sutton died on May 23rd, 2020 at age 84. The legendary head coach was with Oklahoma State for 16 seasons amassing a 368-151 record. He led the Cowboys to two Final Fours, three Elite Eights and six Sweet Sixteens appearances.

His 806 career wins rank ninth all-time among Division I coaches. The 1976-77 National Coach of the Year also led Arkansas and Kentucky to Final Four and Elite Eight success as well. His name officially made the hardwood at Gallagher-Iba Arena when he passed Henry Iba’s career win total in 2005.
Sutton was finally elected into the Naismith Hall of Fame just this April. That induction was “something that was a source of joy for his family”

Eddie Sutton was quite possibly the best coach Oklahoma State ever saw and will always be remembered in the Big 12.
